America’s Cup – San Francisco

San Francisco took the world stage recently in a series of races in the America’s Cup – a sailing match race. The races we saw in the San Francisco Bay were part of a 3-year world series between different countries from Europe, Asia, North America and Australia/New Zealand. These world series races are [practice] and an effort to gain sponsorship for the official America’s Cup race that will be sailed in San Francisco in September  2013. (Team Oracle from the U.S. is the defender of the cup, hence the race being held in the United States next year.)

There were boats from Sweden, Korea, France, Italy, China, Australia/New Zealand and the U.S.

It was a little chilly but the weather was beautiful after the fog lifted. We broke out the mimosas and had a fantastic time on the beach!

The fog is COLD and it just sit over bay.
