Tip #3: When traveling, especially in a country where you do not know the language (at all or very well), be sure to take a business card from the hostel or hotel where you’re staying. That way, you can go out and explore without trying to navigate streets on your own to get yourself back. Even if the business card is in another language and you can’t read it, it’s okay – because a taxi driver can.
If your hostel/hotel is very small or is tucked away and difficult to find, you may consider grabbing a business card from another nearby venue on a more prominent street – then you’ll avoid the confusion of trying to mime where you’re staying. Not everyone truly enjoys a good game of charades.
